Muskegon Polish Festival Brings Cultural Celebration to Hackley Park Over Labor Day Weekend

Muskegon, MI – The 9th annual Muskegon Polish Festival returns to Hackley Park August 30-31 with live music, polka dancing, Polish food, and merchandise.

Held annually over Labor Day weekend, Muskegon Polish Festival highlights Polish culture through traditions, education, music, and cuisine. The festival hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, August 30-31, in downtown Muskegon’s Hackley Park, 350 W. Webster Ave. Admission is $10 for ages 21 and older; under 21 get in free. Enjoy Polish vendors, food, drinks, kids’ activities, music and more.

The festival started as a way to pass along Polish heritage to future generations to preserve as well as share Polish culture with the larger community. This lively, inclusive gathering is a celebration of cherished traditions and culture of the Polish community.

“We’re excited to continue our mission of promoting and celebrating Polish heritage within our community,” said Donna Piasecki, President of the Muskegon Polish Festival. “This year, festival-goers can look forward to unique experiences like dancing the polka on our custom-built wooden dance floor, tasting authentic Polish food, and discovering handcrafted pottery and jewelry. Our popular Polish beers will be served again, and we’ll be debuting our new vodka bar in collaboration with Wonderland Distilling Company.”

Events and activities include:
● Live music and polka dancing from 12-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday
● Food vendors serving authentic Polish cuisine, desserts, beer and more
● Polish merchandise and handcrafted art and jewelry
● Live cooking demonstrations by Anna Hurning from the Polish food blog, Polish Your Kitchen
● Encampment of the Swordsmanship Museum and Academy featuring costumed reenactors and Renaissance-style swords of the Polish Military, the Hussars
● History tent highlighting Muskegon’s local Polish culture with authentic clothing, historical artifacts, and stories of those who helped shape Muskegon

In addition, the festival’s 2024 big raffle is a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4-door hardtop. All sales end at 8 p.m. on Aug. 31. One winning ticket will be drawn between 8:15-8:30 p.m. Aug. 31. Winner need not be present. Tickets available online at www.muskegonpolishfest.com/2024-jeep-raffle.
