No reservations are needed for this free, 35-minute show, which runs November 1 – December 13. This presentation includes a brief planetarium dome demonstration of the current night sky. SONS: Seeing the African American Male

Come to the Muskegon Museum of Art for the opening reception of “SONS: Seeing the African American Male!” Meet artist Jerry Taliaferro at this celebration opening of an exhibition of Taliaferro’s photographs of Muskegon area African American men. The 94 portraits in the exhibition explore how the black American male perceives himself and how he is perceived by others. The men pictured in the exhibition were nominated from the Greater Muskegon area by a committee of their peers. Taliaferro is well regarded for photographic projects and published works, including Women of a New Tribe, a photographic study of the spiritual and physical beauty of black women.
